You’re an author, not a marketer… that’s someone else’s job.

You’re an author, not a marketer.

Tough love time. So what?

Actors are actors and not professional interviewees but when a film comes out, they all have to go on the interview circuit, rolling out the same stories and anecdotes 50 times a day until their heads are about to explode.

It’s part of their job.

If you don’t invest in marketing your book, why should a potential reader bother with it?

By invest, I don’t mean financially – not everyone (publisher or individual) can afford the budgets that would make a difference.

I mean with your time.

You’re time poor, you have a family, commitments, another job, even.

Here’s a friendly reminder that you found time to write the thing in the first place so you can find the time to make sure people know about it.

If you make the mistake of thinking it’s someone else’s job that you don’t need to be involved in, your book will likely not reach the audience you want it to.
