When you realise you have to build a social media profile to market yourself and your book, it can be a blow.
Here’s my tip tips to get moving.
Don’t worry about your own posts to start with.
Sounds counter-intuitive, right?
Wrong.
Search for hashtags or subjects related to your genre, your story or the theme in your novel. Search for readers who use the #amreading hashtag who like the type of thing you write.
When you find them, follow them and engage with them. Read their posts and comment on them.
Because the cold, hard reality is that this is what counts if you want to build genuine relationships (and you do – that’s the only way to succeed).
Your own content and posts are secondary.
Hope that helps.
